David Kremer

Assistant doctor neurosurgery

Coming from a family in which his father is a professor of neurosurgery, David Kremer was introduced to the field of neurosurgery at an early age.

After completing his secondary education at the international Jesuit College of Sankt Blasien, he served for two years in the Pontifical Swiss Guard under Pope Francis. He then studied medicine at the University of Lausanne and passed his final state examination in 2024.

As part of his doctoral dissertation at the University of Lübeck, he is currently focusing on the microsurgical treatment of vestibular schwannomas. His research is based on a retrospective, single-center analysis of a cohort of 456 patients with vestibular schwannomas. The aim of the study is to determine the recurrence rate following microsurgical tumor resection in relation to postoperative volumetric MRI findings. In addition, postoperative morbidity is being analyzed, particularly with regard to facial nerve function and hearing outcomes.

In addition to his academic work, David Kremer is also involved in military medicine. As a military physician in the Swiss Army, he founded the Association of Swiss Military Doctor’s (ASMD) in 2023 and currently serves as its president. The association supports surgical training for Swiss military physicians through both national and international collaborations.

We are pleased to welcome him to our team as a neurosurgical resident since February 2025.
